Shoreline Shaving is a UK-based eco-friendly shaving brand offering plastic-free razors, grooming kits, and sustainable shaving accessories. Their existing Shopify theme lacked modern styling, efficient product discovery, and optimized performance. Customers often faced difficulties finding the right products due to limited filtering options and an outdated collection layout.

To solve these challenges, I completed a Shopify Theme Update & Collection Filter Enhancement aimed at improving design consistency, page performance, and user navigation. The goal was to enhance the store’s browsing experience while keeping the brand’s eco-focused identity at the center.

Theme Update & Visual Refresh

  • Conducted a full design audit of the previous theme, analyzing layout structure, spacing, typography, and brand alignment.

  • Updated color palette, typography, and spacing to reflect Shoreline Shaving’s “eco-luxury” brand style.

  • Improved overall responsiveness so the store looks clean and consistent across desktop, mobile, and tablet.

  • Optimized theme code by removing unnecessary scripts and outdated sections to improve speed and performance.

Collection Page Enhancement & Filter Setup

  • Implemented smart collection filters that allow customers to filter by razor type, color, gift sets, and price range.

  • Designed a user-friendly filter interface to ensure quick and effortless product discovery.

  • Added clear sorting options including “Newest”, “Popular”, “Price Low to High”, and “Price High to Low”.

  • Enhanced the product grid layout with improved spacing and structure to maintain a clean look even after filtering.

Website Performance Optimization

  • Added lazy-loading for product images to significantly improve load time and reduce initial bandwidth usage.

  • Compressed images to maintain quality while reducing file size.

  • Cleaned and optimized JavaScript and CSS to improve overall website speed and reduce rendering time.

Conversion-Focused UX Improvements

  • Made call-to-action buttons (Shop Now, Add to Cart) more visible and prominent across the store.

  • Integrated trust-building elements such as “100% Plastic-Free Packaging” messaging to support Shoreline Shaving’s mission.

  • Added breadcrumb navigation to help users return easily to previous categories and improve overall navigation flow.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Performed extensive device testing to ensure smooth responsiveness across all screen sizes.

  • Tested filter functionality across all combinations (color, type, price, etc.) to ensure accurate results.

  • Evaluated improvements in page speed metrics and user pathways to confirm better loading time and usability.
